Thanks to the millions of tourists spending over $44 billion a year on Texas flights, accommodations and visiting Texas attractions, the state continues to get bigger and better both financially and visually. The old cliché is true: everything really is bigger in Texas.

Texas flights arrive in the second-largest state in the United States, which happens to be larger than any country in Europe. The three largest U.S. cities are in Texas: Houston, Dallas and San Antonio. In Texas, the ranches are bigger, the hats are bigger, the steaks are bigger, the cactus are bigger, the cowboys are bigger, even the cars are bigger in Texas. The state’s motto “Don’t Mess With Texas” is less a slogan and more an attitude. While you may not be able to carry a concealed weapon through security before boarding your Texas flight, you can carry a handgun just about anywhere in Texas.

Other must-see attractions for travelers booking flights to Texas include the Gulf Coast resort area, the Lyndon B. Johnson Space Center in Houston, and of course, a visit to the Alamo in San Antonio.

Agriculture Commissioner Todd Staples today announced the Texas Department of Agriculture is accepting applications for its Wine Grape Investment Grant Program from farmers wishing to expand existing vineyard operations by at least five acres or start new ones.

“The grape grants are an important investment that will produce results for production agriculture and the Texas wine industry,” Commissioner Staples said. “The Texas wine industry ranks fifth in the nation and contributes $1.35 billion annually to our state’s economy. It is critical to continue the expansion of this important industry. The wine grape grant will help support growers committed to increasing their wine grape production.”

TDA initiated this first-of-its-kind program in 2008 and awarded $250,000 in grants to 10 Texas vineyards. Those grants yielded a total new capital investment of $1.4 million into the grape industry.

The Wine Grape Investment Grant Program is housed under TDA’s Rural Economic Development Division. Applications will be accepted through March 3, 2010.

Debt consolidation companies in Texas work with creditors to reduce their monthly payment. The sole purpose of debt consolidation companies in Texas is to resolve serious credit issues of customers, thereby helping them become debt free persons. Many people in Texas face financial constraints due to extended illness, car payments, medical bills, rising credit card interest rates, stock market losses and other reasons. These problems can be solved by taking a debt consolidation program.

Debt consolidation companies help to consolidate unsecured loans, credit card debts and bills into one monthly payment. By utilizing a debt consolidation program, a person can eliminate or reduce interest rates, reduce the term on debts, rebuilt or preserve credit, bring past due accounts as current and reduce financial stress with its emotional upheavals. Debt consolidation companies in Texas possess a team of well experienced professionals providing value added services to their customers. Most of the debt consolidation companies offer services in almost all the cities in Texas. These companies also provide free consultation for debt consolidation online. This helps a person to save about 35-75% on business and personal unsecured debts. No obligation costs or credit check is required.

You can apply for a debt consolidation program either by making a phone call or applying online in Texas. The Internet is one of the easy ways to locate the right debt consolidation company for your need. You can search through directories provided online. Most companies perform the same functions and the offers are somewhat similar. Some companies may ask for a fee. If the company demands high fees, it is better to go for another firm with better business deals.

The history of the Texas Rangers is very fascinating. There is a collective effort to portray them as glorified law enforcement officers running amok to protect the citizens of Texas, using any means necessary to get the job done. Some Rangers were looked upon as criminals who wore a badge. In most cases, the TX Rangers upheld the laws of Texas with integrity, honesty and tremendous bravery. Since the inception of the TX Rangers, seventy-nine Rangers have been killed in the line of duty. Most of these Rangers were killed during the Wild West era between 1858 and 1901. The Rangers have assisted in apprehending some of the most notorious and high profile criminals in history, like outlaw John Wesley Hardin, Bonnie and Clyde, and the infamous bank robber Sam Bass.

Texas Rangers are responsible for undertaking criminal and special investigations like organized crime, bank fraud and corruption committed by public officials. It is the Rangers duty to capture fugitives and bring them to justice. It is the job of the Rangers to help local law enforcement officers enforce the laws, if they are unable or unwilling to control criminal activities in their own jurisdiction. Under the order of a judge, Rangers become officers of the court in charge of protecting the people and maintaining order inside the courtroom. TX Rangers perform forensic investigations to aid in solving major criminal cases. They provide back-up for security details that are responsible for protecting the governor and other high profile dignitaries.

Currently, the Texas Rangers Law Enforcement Division has a total of 144 Rangers. There is a museum located in Waco, Texas that is devoted to the legacy of the these TX Rangers. This museum was created with immense pride to honor the valor and dedication of all the Texas Rangers, both in the past and the present. The life of a Texas Ranger has been portrayed on TV shows, movies and in books, but the media does not capture the true essence of a dedicated Ranger. Texas, as it is today, would not exist without the sacrifice and commitment of the Texas Rangers.

The Lone Star State. That is the term used when referring to the state of Texas. Aside from being known as a big state because of its size, making it the second largest state in the entire United States, what other things do you known about Texas? Do you know that the state of Texas had six different national flags flown over its territory before? That is true for Texas was once governed by six different countries – France, Mexico, Spain, The Republic of Texas, The Confederate States, and the United States of America.

Texas finally became part of the United States as a part of the Treaty of Guadalupe Hidalgo, a treaty between the US and Mexico that ended the Mexican-American war. It was in 1936 that Texas gained its independence from Mexico. The state of Texas had also changed its capital city for seven times. Its previous capital cities were Columbia, Velasco, Galveston, Washington-on-the-Brazos, Houston, and Harrisburg. In 1839, Austin was declared the state capital of Texas and has been the capital of said state until now.

Austin’s capital building was built in 1888 by using Sunset Red granite and its foundation is limestone. The building has the largest square footage than any other state capital building in the US. When it comes to sports, Texas has the most number of professional sports teams in the whole of US. This includes two teams for National Football League, two teams for Major League Baseball, three teams for National Basketball Association, and one team for National Hockey League team.

If you had the foresight to purchase a Texas Lake Property (TLP for short) before the newspaper headlines regarding the state of real estate became grim then the question you’ll be asking yourself right now is most likely to be: ‘What’s going to happen to the value of my property?’ There are a few basic rules regarding real estate values in general and they are driven by the remorseless supply and demand equation. While it’s true that almost everyone in real estate at the moment has got a little nervous the demand for Texas lake properties is still there which means that with supply still not dropping off they have managed to hold their value both in terms of an investment property or a second home and in terms of sales for those currently offering one.

The reason why this should be so is governed by the three old real estate requirements regarding the value of any property: location, location, location. Texas real estate properties combine accessibility in terms of being within striking distance of a large urban centre, a sense of escape from it all by offering wide open spaces, quiet, a sense of peacefulness and the kind of view that can only come by being at a Texas lake and, of course, the fact that you step out of your own front door and walk down to the lake for some real R & R. If you’re not sure which is your favorite lake destination or if you have been somewhere on holiday and you want to know more about the area try the Texas Lake Finder. For an idea on prices on a top quality lake property use our site search. And if you need some help in choosing the perfect lake property then check out our guide on Tips On Choosing The Perfect Texas Lake Property.

Amateur sports in Texas are practiced at professional levels almost and the competitions are fought with great honor and pride. These amateur circles are actually the incubators that promote and produce the new breed of professional sportsmen. After all, it is impossible for anyone to really just get out of the gym or dojo and go straight into the professional circuit. There has to be a place where a person can take part as an amateur and get a taste of the things yet to come.

It is probably due to the existence of this active amateur sports circuit in Texas that so many great sportsmen and women come out of Texas. There are two main amateur circles in Texas and those are the amateur combative sports and the amateur athletics. Both of them are quite self-explanatory. The commissions and bodies that govern these sports mostly follow the pro circuit rules and regulations. These further prepare the participants for the professional circuit. These regulatory bodies are also responsible for maintaining the rankings and making it a serious business. It is not something that people do just for passing time. Some of these bodies are registered as non-profit organizations where the money beyond the break-even point goes to a charity.

The combative sports circuit is all about the latest emerging combat styles in the world. So be it MMA (Mixed Martial Arts) or traditional boxing, Texas takes pride in its budding fighters. The circuit grooms them enough to make them star performers in the professional championships whee they prove themselves at the national and international levels. The amateur athletics section contains a large number of sports under it and some are not even that wide spread yet.
